As part of its ongoing growth, ALAE GROUP SAS is seeking a Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) to oversee the activities of its three Business Units in N’Djamena.
This position provides direct support to the Group Chief Operating Officer (Group COO), who is responsible for the overall strategic and financial oversight of the three Business Units in Chad (budget, treasury, banking relations, governance, back office, HR & Legal). The Group now wishes to strengthen the technical reliability of the accounting, financial and administrative function across the three entities through the creation of a Chad Chief Financial and Administrative Officer position.
Reporting to the Group Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for the reliability of accounting, tax compliance and the quality of financial reporting across the three entities. You will supervise the administrative team (HR, Legal), the Back Office, the Accounting and Administrative Manager (RAC) and the accounting teams of the two entities, harmonize their accounting and administrative practices, and serve as the technical liaison for the Group CFAO and Group HR Director on all financial, accounting, management control and administrative matters.
REQUIRED PROFILE
- Master’s degree (4-5 years of higher education) in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field (Master’s in Accounting, Control and Auditing (CCA), DSCG, ongoing chartered accountant qualification, or equivalent).
- 6 to 8 years of experience in accounting and finance, including proven experience in an accounting management role, ideally across a multi-entity scope.
- Experience in the gaming and entertainment sector, or in another highly regulated industry, is a significant advantage.
- Experience in accounting and financial management in Chad or Central Africa, including strong command of the revised SYSCOHADA accounting framework.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounting and Financial Closing
- Oversee the general and cost accounting of the two entities in compliance with the revised SYSCOHADA framework.
- Manage and ensure the reliability of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting closings for the two entities.
- Ensure the production of reliable, compliant financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, notes) for each of the two entities.
- Tax and Compliance
- Ensure tax and social compliance for the two entities, including obligations specific to the gaming industry in Chad (gaming taxes, levies, licences).
- Oversee the preparation and filing of tax and social returns for the two entities.
- Prepare for and support tax audits as well as internal and external audit engagements.
- Financial Reporting and Management Control
- Produce consolidated financial reporting for the two entities for the Group COO and the Group CFAO.
- Implement and monitor management dashboards (revenue, margin, profitability by entity).
- Analyze budget-to-actual variances and propose corrective actions to the Group COO.
- Internal Control
- Strengthen, in coordination with the Group COO, internal control procedures over sensitive accounting flows specific to the gaming business (cash registers, stakes, winnings).
- Improve the reliability of bank reconciliation procedures and third-party account monitoring for the two entities.
- Cash Management & Financial Flow Security
- Monitor the multi-account (and multi-BU) cash position in Chad on a daily basis.
- Develop and update the cash flow forecast (rolling weekly forecast plus annual budget), in coordination with the Business Units’ projections.
- Arbitrate and secure intragroup flows (advances, cash upstreaming to the Holding, inter-BU financing) in compliance with transfer pricing rules.
- Propose short-term, secure investment options for surplus cash.
- Anticipate and hedge foreign exchange risk on currency flows (EUR/USD/XAF).
- Produce a consolidated monthly cash reporting package for the Group COO.
- Perform bank reconciliations at a close frequency (weekly at a minimum) to quickly identify any discrepancies.
- Manage and regularly audit access rights to online banking platforms (authorizations, strong authentication, periodic access reviews).
- Secure electronic and mobile payment methods (wire transfers, mobile money where applicable for iGaming activities) against payment and wire transfer fraud.
- Ensure vigilance and compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) requirements, a particularly sensitive area for the iGaming business, in line with GABAC/CEMAC regulations.
- Management and Harmonization
- Supervise, lead and develop the skills of the teams across the two Business Units (Back Office, Accounting and Administrative Manager (RAC), HR Manager, Legal Manager, and their respective teams).
- Harmonize accounting procedures and management tools between the two entities.
- Contribute, under the authority of the Group COO, to the progressive structuring of the finance function in Chad.
- Technical Skills
- In-depth command of the revised SYSCOHADA accounting framework and ability to prepare complete financial statements.
- Strong knowledge of Chadian and CEMAC tax regulations, including the specific requirements of the gaming industry.
- Proficiency in management control techniques, multi-entity accounting consolidation, and management tools (ERP, advanced Excel).
- Behavioral and Managerial Skills
- Leadership and the ability to manage and harmonize the practices of two distinct accounting teams.
- Rigor and a strong sense of integrity, essential in a sensitive and highly regulated industry.
- Ability to work closely with the Group COO and provide reliable, regular reporting.
- Strong communication skills with the Operations Directors of the two entities, as well as with auditors and regulatory authorities.
